The Women’s Center of Greater Danbury is a local safe haven for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, servicing 13 towns, including Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Danbury, Kent, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield, Roxbury, Sherman, and Washington. The Connecticut Alliance to End Sexual Violence is a local organization that offers resources to survivors of sexual violence in the state of Connecticut. The National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) is an organization that developed Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). NO MORE / NO MÁS is a group aiming to raise public awareness and engagement around ending domestic violence and sexual assault. Their website (nomore.org) contains multiple public awareness campaigns and public service announcements dedicated to the cause of ending domestic violence and sexual assault as well as resources on how to recognize violence, how to support friends and family members who are survivors of violence, how to respond to violence as it is occurring, and what bystanders can do in a situation in which violence is occurring.
