Library Faculty can provide in-class instruction sessions for 300 and 400 level courses, as well as 200 level courses with a research component and 200 level courses with the Information Literacy competency attached.
Instruction sessions can be booked for your class by clicking here. We can help your class with:
- accessing library resources – both print and electronic
- developing a fluency with basic and advanced research techniques
- Discovering what library services are available
- developing a comfort level with academic research
We endeavor to provide customized instruction for each course and assignment. To make the most of the session, we ask that you provide:
- The course name, course number date, time, number of students enrolled, and any special needs for the class.
- A copy of the assignment and/or syllabus in advance, so we can tailor our instruction to your students’ needs
Other recommendations:
- Please book your session at least 2 weeks in advance to allow time for preparation of demonstrations and materials.
- Instruction sessions can be held in your regular classroom if there is appropriate technology available, or can be held in the Haas Library’s instruction classrooms*.
*Members of the teaching faculty and University staff may schedule the instruction classrooms no more than one week in advance before mid-semester. After mid-semester, scheduling is on a first-come, first-served basis with no limit on time in advance of the session. To schedule use of one of these rooms, please contact
Jennifer O'Brien.
