On April 22nd you and your friends have a chance to win 4 tickets to The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk! Getting yourself a raffle ticket is as easy as:
One raffle ticket will be drawn to win ALL FOUR aquarium tickets! The drawing will occur after the 3-5pm Film and Forum showing! The winner will be contacted right away and will have the remainder of the school week to claim their prize. If left unclaimed, another raffle ticket will be drawn the following week and so on.

Stop in and drop off your used electronics and WCSU's own Kevin Koschel will destroy/demolish/disassemble them for proper recycling! The Jane Goodall Center for Excellence in Environmental Education is a unique partnership between Western Connecticut State University and The Jane Goodall Institute, a private non-profit organization dedicated to wildlife research, education and conservation.
You are invited to listen to a presentation by Sharon Lewis, Executive Director of the Connecticut Coalition for Economic and Environmental Justice (CCEEJ), followed by a student panel. Lunch is provided!

Sharon Lewis is the Executive Director of the Connecticut Coalition for Economic and Environmental Justice (CCEEJ). She is also the founder of Boots on the Ground—an environmental justice advocate training school—and the Community Benefits Alliance, which helps communities understand and negotiate equitable development agreements.
Her work spans climate policy, energy justice, and insurance reform, with a focus on empowering frontline communities to fight for what they deserve. Sharon has testified before Congress on the critical connection between climate change and the insurance industry, highlighting how discriminatory practices undermine housing, resilience, and recovery in vulnerable neighborhoods. She also leads campaigns to ensure equitable access to clean energy and community-led sustainability solutions.
She believes sustainability is not just a goal—it’s a right. Through education, advocacy, and organizing, she is unlocking what’s possible when justice is at the center.
Sharon is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College holding a BA in Urban Studies and an MA in Urban Planning.
Join us for Paint a Pot, Plant a Seed – a fun, creative, and relaxing event! Students will get the chance to design and decorate a plant pot with paints and brushes. After painting, they’ll add soil and choose a seed to plant – creating a personalized little garden to take home.

We'll be screening Climate Refugees, a highly awarded documentary that focuses on the intersection between "overpopulation, excessive consumption, dwindling resources, and a shifting climate."
A discussion following the screening will be led by Dr. Anna Malavisi, Associate Professor and Co-Chair of the Department of Philosophy.

Anna Malavisi has a PhD in philosophy from Michigan State University. Her dissertation, Global development and its discontents: rethinking the theory and practice is a critical analysis of global development from an ethical and feminist epistemology perspective. Her philosophical interests include: practical and global ethics, feminist philosophy/epistemology, social and political thought, environmental philosophy and the philosophy of violence. She has a Master of Health and International Development and has worked for 16 years in Latin America in the NGO sector in areas of development practice and management.
