WCSU University Planning and Budgeting Committee (UPBC)

Objectives, Responsibilities, and Powers

A. To evaluate, monitor, and report on the Institutional Strategic Plan, in accordance with the institutional planning model as accepted by the University Senate. The committee’s annual agenda of work will include regular review of goals and objectives with responsible departments.

B. To review and comment on/endorse the recommended spending plan for the university (prepared by fiscal affairs) prior to submission to BOR.

C. To receive and review academic and non-academic program proposals that require significant  budgetary commitment; to analyze proposals with respect to the strategic plan, resources, and  schedule of implementation.

D. To prepare responses on program discontinuance for appropriate committees.

E. To establish ad hoc or standing subcommittees as needed.
