2018 Open Educational Resources (OER) Grants
Applications are being accepted for faculty OER grants for the 2018-2019 academic year. There are three types of grants available: Evaluation, Implementation, or Development.
WCSU Libraries offers these OER Grants to support the increased use of high quality OER at WCSU. These grants award faculty for time and effort used in evaluating, implementing, or developing materials for actual or potential utilization in a WCSU course.
2018 OER Grants for WCSU are now closed.
Resources may include, but are not limited to:
- open textbooks and accessory materials
- open course materials and websites such as syllabi, lesson plans, activities, and content; images and videos; software; and open access journal articles.
Collectively, the resource(s) identified in each OER project should have content such that they could replace (Evaluation or Development Grants) or actually do replace (Implementation Grant) the commercial resources currently in use in the course for which they are intended.
- Evaluation: Ten (10) OER Evaluation grants in the amount of $500 each to support the identification and evaluation of potential OER materials to replace high cost texts/materials in a course.
- Implementation: Four (4) OER Implementation Grants in the amount of $1000 each to support replacement of existing high cost materials with an OER alternative in a course.
- Development: Two (2) OER Development Grant in the amount of $1500 to support activities to develop new OER materials (or substantially revise and/or remix existing OER) for a course.
Funding to award these grants is made possible by a grant received from the Davis Educational Foundation established by Stanton and Elisabeth Davis after Mr. Davis's retirement as chairman of Shaw's Supermarkets, Inc. and the WCSU Student Government Association.
