Intercultural (IC)

Definition:
Intercultural Competency (IC) courses ask students to explore and reflect upon, with curiosity and openness, artifacts, practices, institutions, and interactions of diverse cultures, particularly those that challenge their own worldview.

Outcomes:
Upon completion of the Intercultural Competency, students will be able to:

  • Investigate diverse perspectives using discipline-specific qualitative and/or quantitative methodologies;
  • Compare and analyze differences and similarities among and within cultural and/or historical contexts; and
  • Interpret and translate complexities of social, economic, and/or political systems and processes
